Advanced aesthetics & skin treatments in Brentwood, Essex
The neck is one of the areas where ageing skin can become particularly noticeable. Fine creasing, dryness and a thin or “crepey” appearance can develop even when the face still looks relatively smooth.
There is no single best treatment because the right approach depends on whether the main problem is dehydration, texture, skin laxity or a combination of these.
The skin of the neck is relatively delicate. Over time, reductions in collagen and elastin, cumulative sun exposure, dehydration and repeated movement can all contribute to visible changes. Fine surface creasing, horizontal folds, prominent muscle bands, fat beneath the chin and loose skin are different issues, even when they appear together.
A gentle cleanser, moisturiser and broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher can support comfort and reduce further sun-related damage. Extend sun protection to the neck and upper chest, and use shade or clothing outdoors. Introduce active skincare gradually because the neck can be easily irritated.
Moisturiser can make dryness-related fine lines less noticeable, but skincare does not remove significant excess skin. The American Academy of Dermatology’s skin-firming advice explains the limits of creams and non-surgical tightening.
Profhilo is frequently considered when dehydration, fine creasing and reduced skin quality are concerns.
Because the aim is skin improvement rather than facial reshaping, the neck is one of the areas commonly associated with the treatment.
Seventy Hyal is another injectable option where hydration and fine lines are the main concerns.

Our targeted Bio Nutri Neck treatment may also be discussed for neck and décolletage skin quality. As with other injectable options, suitability depends on the skin, treatment area and your history; it should not be assumed to correct every horizontal fold or degree of laxity.
Dermapen microneedling may be appropriate when improving texture and encouraging collagen renewal are priorities.
It works differently from injectable hydration treatments, so the two approaches may address different elements of ageing neck skin.
Venus Freeze provides a non-injectable option for clients seeking improvement in the appearance of skin firmness and texture.
Horizontal neck lines and crepey texture cannot always be completely removed, particularly where structural ageing or established skin laxity is present.
A realistic treatment plan focuses on improving hydration, texture and skin quality rather than promising to make the neck look entirely line-free.
Sometimes. The face, neck and décolletage can be assessed together, but they do not automatically need the same product or procedure. A staged plan may be more appropriate, and treating the face does not create an obligation to treat the neck.
Injectable treatments may cause visible bumps, swelling, tenderness or bruising and can have less common complications such as infection, lumps or vascular injury. Microneedling can cause redness, soreness, pigment changes or scarring; heat-based skin-firming procedures can cause burns. Discuss the risks and aftercare of the exact procedure and allow recovery time before an event.
A pronounced amount of loose skin or a concern caused mainly by deeper anatomy may need a different assessment, including a surgical opinion. Non-surgical procedures do not reproduce a neck lift. New lumps, a changing lesion or an unexplained rash should be medically assessed before cosmetic treatment.
You do not need to choose a brand before your appointment. Explain whether texture, dryness, horizontal lines or looseness bothers you most, and tell us about medicines, previous treatments, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Ask what improvement is realistic, how many sessions may be needed and the overall cost including maintenance.
Our ageing skin advice and broader ageing skin treatment guide put neck changes in context. If hydration is your priority, read Which Skin Booster Is Right for Me? and Profhilo vs Skin Boosters.
If crepey neck skin is bothering you, we can assess whether hydration, collagen stimulation, skin tightening or a combination approach is most appropriate.
